【摘要】:Testsconductedinaccordancewiththispracticeareintendedtoinducepropertychangesassociatedwithuseexposuretolightandheatintypicalofficeenvironments.Theseexposuresarenotintendedtosimulatethedeteriorationcausedbylocalizedphenomenasuchashandling,dirtcontamination,etc.Note58212;Caution:Caution:RefertopracticeG151forfullcautionaryguidanceapplicabletoalllaboratoryweatheringdevices.AdditionalinformationonsourcesofvariabilityandonstrategiesforaddressingvariabilitybydesignanddataanalysisoflaboratoryacceleratedexposuretestsisfoundinGuideG141.Variationinresultsmaybeexpectedarepossiblebetweenthedifferentmethodsdescribedinthispractice.Forexample,differencesinspectraldistributionofthelampsusedandvariationsintheirradianceforasingletypeoflampcancausesignificantdifferencesintestresults.Therefore,anynoreferencetotheuseofthispracticeshouldbemadeunlessaccompaniedbyareportpreparedinaccordancewithSection12thatdescribesneedstoincludeareferencetothemethodused.Reproducibilityoftestresultsbetweenlaboratorieshasbeenshowntobegoodwhenthestabilityofmaterialsisevaluatedintermsofperformancerankingcomparedtoothermaterialsortoacontrol.Therefore,exposureofasimilarmaterialofknownperformance(acontrol)atthesametimeasthetestmaterialsisstronglyrecommended.Itisrecommendedthatatleastthreereplicatesofeachmaterialbeexposedtoallowforstatisticalevaluationofresults.1.1Thispracticecoversthebasicprinciplesandoperatingproceduresforusingfluorescentlighttodeterminecolorstabilityofplasticswhenmaterialsareexposedintypicalofficeenvironmentswherefluorescentoverheadlightingandwindow-filtereddaylightareusedforilluminationandwheretemperatureandhumidityconditionsareinaccordancewithAmericanSocietyofHeating,Refrigerating,andAir-conditioningEngineers(ASHRAE)recommendationsforworkers''comfort.Note18212;ThereisnoequivalentISOstandard.1.2Thispracticedescribesfourmethodswherespecimensareexposedtofluorescentlightundercontrolledenvironmentalconditions.TwoofthemethodsuseanexposuredevicethatprovidesformixingoffluorescentlampsandtwoofthemethodsusedevicesthatcomplywithPracticeG154.Note2MethodIusescoolwhitefluorescentlampsandwindowglassfilteredfluorescentUVBlampsandisthesamemethoddescribedinpreviousversionsofthisstandard.1.3SpecimenpreparationandevaluationoftheresultsarecoveredinASTMmethodsorspecificationsforspecificmaterials.GeneralguidanceisgiveninPracticeG151.MorespecificinformationaboutmethodsfordeterminingthechangeinpropertiesafterexposureandreportingtheseresultsisdescribedinPracticeD5870.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.5Unlessotherwisespecified,alldimensionsarenominal.1.6Thispracticemayinvolvehazardousmaterials,operations,andequipment.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,isany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecificprecautionarystatementsaregiveninSection7.
