本标准于１９９１年首次发布，本次为第１次修订。本标准自实施之日起，代替ＦＺ／Ｔ０１００６—１９９１。本标准规定了用显微镜测量涂层织物中涂层厚度的方法。本标准适用于测定各种类型的涂层织物中各层涂层的厚度。 本标准是对ＦＺ／Ｔ０１００６—１９９１《涂层织物　涂层厚度试验方法》的修订。与ＦＺ／Ｔ０１００６—１９９１相比，主要变化如下：
１．增加了引用标准ＧＢ６５２９；
２．增加了英文术语；
３．试样数量由一个方向３块改为纵、横向各３块；
４．增加了仲裁性检验或者特殊性能样品应调湿试样的要求；
５．１８个测量值的分布由３×２×３改为每个试样测量３点；
６．增加了“试样切片中要包含完整的经纬纱屈曲波”的规定；
７．增加了测量最大粘合厚度的描述；
８．删除了“当变异系数大于２５％时，重新取样复测一次”；
９．增加了“如果需要，计算测量值的变异系数犆犞值”；
１０．将结果数值“修约间隔为１０－３”改为“保留２位有效数字”；
１１．将原来的２个附录（补充件）合并调整为１个资料性附录；
１２．增加了测量涂层厚度部位的示意图。
