【摘要】:Theproceduresoutlinedherearegroundedinthegenerallyacceptedbodyofknowledgeandexperienceinthefieldofforensicdocumentexamination.Byfollowingtheseprocedures,aforensicdocumentexaminercanreliablyreachanopinionconcerningwhethertwoormorehandwrittenitemswerewrittenbythesameperson(s).Note28212;Thephrasex201C;writtenbythesameperson(s)x201D;referstophysicalgenerationofthewriting,nottointellectualownershipofthecontent.1.1Thisguideprovidesproceduresthatshouldbeusedbyforensicdocumentexaminers(E444)forexaminationsandcomparisonsinvolvinghandwrittenitemsandrelatedprocedures.1.2Theseproceduresareapplicablewhethertheexaminationandcomparisonisofquestionedandknownitemsorofexclusivelyquestioneditems.1.3Theseproceduresincludeevaluationofthesufficiencyofthematerial(questioned,orknown,orboth)availableforexamination.1.4Theparticularmethodsemployedinagivencasewilldependuponthenatureofthematerialavailableforexamination.1.5Thisguidemaynotcoverallaspectsofunusualoruncommonexaminationsofhandwrittenitems.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatoryrequirementspriortouse.
